By default, the ability to search from the "awesome bar" in previous versions of Firefox no longer exists. Sometimes it's nice just to type "amazon" instead of "amazon.co.uk", but in Firefox 4 Beta this will simply direct you to a Google search for "amazon".
To get the old functionality back, type about:config into the location bar and press enter. Once you click through the stuff about voiding your warranty, enter keyword in the Filter box. Almost there! Just double-click the entry for keyword.URL and paste this in:
http://www.google.co.uk/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=
Job done.
